With a high likelihood, the most exciting modern rarity of the auction year is now presented by Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm! In the carefully curated theme of Design Sale, there is a variant of Josef Frank's cabinet 1140, upholstered with 50 bird plates from Magnus Körner's groundbreaking work "Skandinaviska foglar tecknade efter naturen" (Scandinavian Birds Drawn from Nature). The cabinet was acquired in the late 1940s by Dr. Harald Lindstedt and has been passed down within the family until now. Its uniqueness has been confirmed with the assistance of curator Per Ahldén at Svenskt Tenn, and the piece itself is truly magnificent in every aspect.
But the auction also includes 42 selected lots. Among them, you'll find a splendid bronze table lamp by Alice Nordin, a fine silver hanging bowl by Erik Flemming, Børge Mogensen's perfect Spanish Chair for enjoying the fireplace, a lavishly decorated floor urn by Carl-Harry Stålhane, Hertha Hillfon's sculpture "Läppar" from her own studio, Stig Lindberg's oxblood-colored and quite substantial floor urn, and an unusual sofa by Carl Malmsten. Also, don't miss Wiwen Nilsson's conical-shaped lighter, made of silver in 1928, and the Austrian corkscrew, a candidate for the world's most beautiful.
You are warmly welcome to Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm and their Design Sale!
