A longstanding craft tradition where knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation has made Sami handicrafts a sought-after area for collectors. Now, Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5 and Globen present no less than 110 lots with a wide range of high-quality creations. For knowledgeable collectors, there are many familiar names, including Lars Pirak and Nils Nilsson Skum, who are natural features. A large oil painting by the former is among the highlights. Knife collectors have plenty to choose from, including a piece by Jon Pålsson Fankki, dated 1927. A ceremonial drum by Lars Knutsson Sunna should also pique the market's interest. In addition to this, there were offerings in silver, textiles, birch, a variety of artworks, a pair of root baskets, a 19th-century chest, and much more.
