It was at the Parliament in Strängnäs on June 6th that Gustav Vasa was elected as the King of Sweden. And exactly 500 years (!) later, on the same day, the items in Stockholms Auktionsverk's curated theme "Congratulations Sweden" will be auctioned.
55 lots are up for grabs, and among them, one delightful piece after another can be found. There are even two copies of Nirvan Richter's sofa "Träsoffa." Lisa Larson is also represented by more than one lot, including her delicate bronze sculpture "Myran" (The Ant). A unique but high-quality addition is the commemorative coin "A Comedy by Lasse Åberg, Sällskapsresan or is there Swedish coffee at the pig party." But these are just a few examples from a vast selection that also includes a significant number of pieces from Karin Björquist's Nobel Dinner Service, a pair of Gustavian-style tabourets by Erik Öhrmark, silver goblets in various sizes, and modern designs.
