We take our starting point in the early 1900s, where Karl Lindeberg's apricot-yellow butterflies flutter with summer lightness in a cased glass piece that was the very latest fashion at the time. This is followed by a smorgasbord of the development of glass art, with works by Vicke Lindstrand, Sven Palmqvist, Ingeborg Lundin, Gunnar Cyrén and Erika Lagerbielke. All familiar names. But we can also enjoy Émile Gallé's undulating motifs and a few birds by Oiva Toikka.
Delightfully blue are Edvin Öhrström's creations. The most wilful is of course Erik Höglund — and as if all of this were not enough, a pair of Italian pieces of distinguished quality are also on offer.
