More than a century of craftsmanship is on offer as RA Auktionsverket Norrköping presents the theme Art Glass. A significant portion dates from the 1920s and 1930s — a period when the Swedish glassworks placed Småland firmly on the world map. Yet some of the highlights in this theme are older still — considerably older.
A slender beauty, designed by Axel Enoch Boman and produced at Reijmyre, stands as a symbol of the renewal that glass art underwent at the turn of the twentieth century. Beside it appear delicate Swedish Grace pieces with engraved decoration — and from there the story continues. Pop glass by Gunnar Cyrén, playful Sinnemark creations from two decades later, and on to contemporary works by Mikael Axenbrant and Eva Lena Martinsson.
