Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5 presents art in three dimensions as they now introduce the theme Sculpture - a collection!
With the plastic expression as a common thread, there's a connection from Hugo Elmqvist's water carrier in patinated bronze to Erik Höglund's cast glass beetle. In total, there are 21 lots, all of which occupy space in the room, grounded in an aesthetic approach that may have originated in a sketchbook or perhaps from a lump of clay. In this context, Per Hasselberg's relief portrait of Julius Caspar is a work firmly rooted in tradition, especially when compared to Liss Eriksson's quietly held piece, "Faster." They share bronze as a material, but the auction also offers creations in lead, wrought iron, plaster, wood, and the aforementioned glass. This provides a kaleidoscopic view of the art form.
