Rushbrooks Auctioneers are delighted to present five works by Moroccan artist Mahi Binebine from an English Private Collection.
Born in Marrakesh, Morocco, Binebine moved to Paris in the 1980’s where he took his first steps towards abstraction. From Paris, Binebine moved to New York in 1994 to dedicate himself fully to his painting and writing. His work can be found in the permanent collection of the Guggenheim, New York. Exhibitions include COP 22, Jardin des Arts, Marrakech (2016); 25 ans d’art contemporain Arabe, Institute du Monde Arabe, Paris (2013) and the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009). Today, Binebine is considered the most famous living painter in Morocco.
