At last the time has come for the Spring Quality Auction at Skånes Auktionsverk! The wait has been long but now the doors are flung open.
And starting even outside, there stands a Ford truck from 1930, steeped in charm and perfect for those who wish to trundle forth with the elegance and grace of early modernism.
The catalogue is of high quality, featuring several exclusive wristwatches, furniture by Josef Frank, ten silver place settings, an abundance of Flora Danica porcelain and a very extensive Odelberg service.
Among the highlights are Marc Chagall's lithograph "Soleil couchant", a vase by Axel Salto, a pumpkin by Hans Hedberg and very generous cutlery sets from Georg Jensen and John Round – the latter bearing the Calder family coat of arms and motto "Vigilans non cadet". Particularly fine is also Henrik Nordenberg's open door to the garden, where conversation continues in the greenery.
And for all those who can never get enough of iceberg tragedies, the Titanic steams ahead over the open sea with its four billowing funnels. A vessel for water on a somewhat smaller scale is the Rörstrand jardinière in the form of a Viking ship – ideal for water lilies or snacks. Among the auction's very smallest beauties are the pair of 18K white gold earrings from Bvlgari.
Welcome!
