Description

Two ca. 1930s theatre playbills. The first is a 1929 Fortune Theatre programme for THE LAST ENEMY, signed by cast members including Laurence Olivier, Athene Seyler, Nicholas Hannen, Frank Lawton, and Marjorie Mars. The second is the 1939 Lyceum Theatre farewell performance of John Gielgud's HAMLET, the final production prior to the theatre's closure.

Also includes a programme for a centennial celebration for Sir Charles Wyndham, celebrated English actor and theatre proprietor. The programme contains a letter from his son Howard Wyndham to actress and friend Athene Seyler.

All are remarkably preserved for their age. Covers have some light wear, tanning, and spotting. Internally, pages are bright and clean. Fortune Theatre programme has one loose page.
