Ma San Auction present their Asian Art - Antique & Decorative sale.

The sale opens with a private Japanese collection of late Ming dynasty blue and white porcelain, among them rare Kraak wares with Wanli and Tianqi period pieces. From the same collection, there is a substantial run of Edo and Meiji period woodblock prints and manuscripts, ranging from medical and surgical texts to works on heraldry, mathematics and classical Chinese literature.

Among the individual highlights is a Qing dynasty Chinese imperial red wool ground and gold thread 'Ten Dragon' robe, accompanied by a group of Qing textiles including embroidered silk robes, jackets and skirts. Chinese porcelain from Kangxi blue and white and famille rose to monochrome glazes are also included, as well as archaic pottery like Han dynasty cocoon jars, Neolithic painted wares and Tang dynasty figures among them. Japanese bronzes, Gandharan sculpture, Chinese hardstones, lacquerwork, coins and a small group of Southeast Asian and Islamic ceramics complete the sale.
