"Michael Eneman (1676-1714) was a scholar and priest. He participated as a field chaplain in Charles XII's Russian campaign, accompanied the king to Bender, was appointed first legation preacher at the mission in Constantinople in 1709. He received permission to make a longer trip in the area in 1711-12 and then visited Smyrna, the Greek archipelago including Chios and Rhodes, Alexandria, Cairo, Sinai, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Dead Sea, Palestine, Syria and Cyprus. During the journey, he received the professorship of oriental languages in Uppsala in 1712. His health deteriorated during the trip and he returned in poor condition to Sweden where, on his deathbed, he married one of Olof Rudbeck's daughters.".
