Description

Image size 15x21 cm Björn Berg was born in Unterwössen, Munich to Swedish parents in 1923. The family settled in New York for nine years between 1926-1935. There, Björn's father Folke W:son Berg made a living with portraits and decorative painting in speakeasy bars. Björn was taught by father Folke and was also handpicked for a special drawing class where young talents from all over the city were included. It must be emphasized that Björn learned a lot from his father, but one who also inspired from the New York era was Gustaf Tenggren, who was a good friend of the family.
