Wouter Stips (1944)
Dutch artist, graphic designer, author, and director. Educated at the Willem de Kooning Academy. From the 1980s, he worked for Dutch television and became known for his series "12 Steden, 13 Ongelukken" (VARA, 1990–1995). Together with Han Peekel and Kees de Bree, he developed "Wordt Vervolgd" (1983–1993), a television program about comics and cartoons broadcast by AVRO.
He also drew comics, including "Agaath Weet Raad," which appeared in Nieuwe Revu.
From 1996, he returned to fine art and sculpture.
Under his guidance, sculptures were produced by Italian glass masters on Murano in Venice.
His works are colorful, playful, whimsical, and ambiguous, while simultaneously possessing a deeper meaning through the use of transparent glass.
Minor wear consistent with age and use.
