The item comes from the seller's family, which for many generations has been linked to the farm Byn in Delsbo, located near Delsbo church and the open-air museum. Byn belongs to the older farm environments in Delsbo and has for a long time consisted of the farms Byn 1 and Byn 2. The farm included land and forest areas and was located in close proximity to the church and the water. Byn appears in literature about Delsbo and Hälsingland and has also been depicted by several artists.

1730–1790, one of the farms was worked by Olof Hansson, who was a farmer and active as a juror and member of parliament. The seller's family has since been linked to the farm for about eleven generations. The seller's father was named Olof Persson, the grandfather Per Persson, his father Olof Persson and his father Per Olsson. Earlier generations of the family were also farmers and worked the farm. The farm still remains within the family, and the item has been preserved within the family as part of the farm's and the family's history.
