Lars Lerin is a Swedish artist and author, born in 1954 in Munkfors, Värmland. He is primarily known for his atmospheric watercolour paintings. His subjects are often landscapes, houses, and everyday environments from places such as Värmland and Lofoten. With soft colours, light, and shadows, he creates a calm and sometimes melancholic feeling in his images.

Lerin studied at the Gerlesborg School of Fine Art and the Valand Academy in Gothenburg. He is also a successful author and has published many books where text and images are often intertwined. He has received several awards, including the August Prize in 2014 for the book Naturlära. In Karlstad, there is the art gallery Sandgrund Lars Lerin, where many of his works are exhibited.

Lars Lerin is considered one of the Nordic region's foremost watercolour artists and has become highly appreciated by both the art world and the general public.
