The Braun PCS 52 E is a manual turntable from 1965, designed under the direction of Dieter Rams. It combines the heavy cast chassis of the PCS 5 with an approx. 2.7 kg aluminium platter and a belt-idler wheel drive for four speeds (16, 33, 45, 78 rpm). The defining feature of the E variant is the factory-fitted English SME 3009 Series II precision tonearm, which allows for the use of modern HiFi cartridges. The unit completely dispenses with automatic functions such as an auto-stop and follows the typically functional design language of the Braun brand.
