Lisa Larson (1931-2024) has won the hearts of the public like no other Swedish ceramicist. With warmth and tender humor, she portrayed everything in ceramics from cats and wild animals to toddlers and sturdy women engrossed in reading. Series such as "Lilla Zoo", "ABC-flickor" and "All världens barn" became great successes, and Lisa Larson was the single most important artist at Gustavsberg during the 1960s and 70s, from a sales perspective. However, she also achieved artistic success, including with stoneware bowls and vases, which she incised and glazed in abstract patterns. She developed this free artistic expression even further after leaving Gustavsberg in 1981 and setting up her own studio. She never stopped creating "ceramics for the people", however. Within the framework of Keramikstudion, she produced new series, which have also reached a large audience far beyond Sweden's borders.
