Lena Malmsten was a Swedish artist with a deeply personal and intuitive expression. As a self-taught artist, she developed a visual language where dreams, emotions, and the subconscious were at the center. Born in Stockholm and active on the outskirts of the city, Lena Malmsten created paintings that move in the borderland between fantasy and reality, with clear traits of surrealism and symbolism.

During the 1990s, she exhibited at several galleries around Sweden, such as Galleri Svanö, Kramfors, Galleri Nova, Karlstad, and Galleri Dialog, Stockholm. She was the granddaughter of furniture designer Carl Malmsten and also exhibited at the family-owned residence Övre Karlsro in Solna, where Carl Malmsten lived for most of his life. Lena Malmsten is represented at, among others, the Laholm Museum of Drawing.

Sold for the benefit of the Jakobsberg Church parish, Stockholm.
