Scleral lenses are custom-fitted, rigid contact lenses that are significantly larger than standard lenses. They rest entirely on the white of the eye (sclera) and vault over the entire damaged or irregular cornea. The space under the lens is filled with tear fluid, which provides superior comfort and visual acuity.
