Earthenware. Model 8031 and 6049. Monogram signed. Length 12-24 cm.
When Göran Andersson (1935-89) abandoned ceramics for a career as a set designer, more than a few shed a tear. For what he created during his years at Upsala-Ekeby 1960-67 showed evidence of a rare feel for the expressive means of ceramics. His decorative talent was visible in the art pottery series, often in refined, simple abstract patterns, with incised and/or painted black strokes and lines against a monochrome background, while his sometimes drolly humorous animal figurines showed that he could also sculpt and form.
Condition
Minor marks. The larger figurine with surface dirt on the back.
