Earthenware. Signed. Model 3003G. Length 30 cm. Height 23 cm.
When Göran Andersson (1935-89) abandoned ceramics for a career as a set designer, more than a few shed a tear. For what he created during his years at Upsala-Ekeby 1960-67 showed a rare feel for the expressive means of ceramics. His decorative talent was evident in the art pottery series, often in refined, simple abstract patterns, with incised and/or painted black lines and strokes against a monochrome background, while his sometimes drolly humorous animal figurines showed that he could also sculpt and form.
