Victorian Mintons majolica teapot, modelled as a monkey wearing oriental costume clutching a coconut, the spout formed as a piece of bamboo, the cover as the monkey's head, and the handle as the monkey's tale, decorated all-over in a Chinese style turquoise or peacock blue glaze, (possibly a prototype or special order?), shape number 1844, impressed marks "Mintons", "1844", "E", "D", and arrow date mark for 1874, H.16 x W.22.5cm.
Condition
Crazing. Handle repaired, chip to bottom of spout and chip to cover.
