Painter & hat stylist Gunda Erikson was born in 1932 in Boliden and died in 2022 in Örebro, where she was most noted for her artistry.
The artist has had several art exhibitions at Liljevalchs in Stockholm and at home.
Erikson was an autodidact as an artist. She has appeared in solo and collection exhibitions in Stockholm, Örebro, Gothenburg, Södertälje and the collection exhibition Naïve kunst at the Jönköping County Museum in 1971 and 1976, and at the Kean Mason Gallery in New York in 1982. In addition, she has appeared at Liljevalch's spring salon ten times. She became Örebro County Council's Cultural Fellow in 1978.
Her art consisted of detailed floral still lifes, interiors and landscapes in a naïve style with an appeal to surrealism. Her public works include art at Brickebacken's kindergarten in Örebro and in a stairwell in the Gillet neighborhood. Erikson is represented at Eskilstuna Konstmuseum, the Danish Arts Council and several municipalities and county councils.
In good condition.
But it is probably not completely finished, as can be seen on the berries, among other things.
