In 1958 Stieg Trenter's detective story Springaren was published, and in the same year Gustavsberg Trenter's good friend Stig Lindberg's character Springare appeared. Trenter's book is set on Gustavsberg, and the “steed” in the book is an antique horse from the Tang Dynasty that someone makes copies of in the factory.
