Background: Francis Uherova is perhaps the designer at Upsala-Ekeby we know the least about. What is still clear is that she came from what was then Czechoslovakia and was employed in the factory's decoration studio in the late 1940s. She mainly made jewellery collections and figurines. A vase of classical form with deep blue glaze is one of the few known “standard objects” by Uherova.
