Description
Earthenware. Height 44 cm.
Background: Irma Yourstone has fallen into the shadow of her older sister Ilse Claesson Roempke, who was a ceramist at Rörstrand and textile artist. Irma was also on Rörstrand, but started her own business in 1942 with her husband Henry Yourstone, first in Huddinge, then in Halmstad from 1959. Alongside a large amount of utilitarian and ornamental ceramics to keep the business going, she created a personal pottery in a toned-down design language.
