Svea, officially HM Pansarbåge Svea was an armoured ship of the Swedish Royal Navy. Svea was the first armoured ship built for the navy and the first ship of three in the Svea class, which she formed together with Göta and Thule.
The main armament of Svea consisted of two 25.4 cm guns m/1889 and the secondary armament of four 15.2 cm guns. She was built at Lindholmen's mechanical workshop in Gothenburg and launched on 12 December 1885, with delivery to the Navy on 20 September 1886. During her lifetime, the ship underwent numerous modernisations, the most extensive of which took place in 1903-04, when, among other things, the difficult artillery was replaced by a 21 cm piece in single turret. In 1921, Svea was converted into a staff and submarine depot ship and on 30 December 1941 she was decommissioned and sold to Karlskrona Warship for scrapping.
