Jan Brunk 1941-2005, was an esteemed Swedish silversmith with his own studio on the south side of Stockholm. He trained as a silversmith for Claës Giertta in 1957—1965 and subsequently worked as a silversmith with court jewelers C.F. Carlman 1965—1976, before opening his own studio on Södermannagatan, where Sebastian Schildt was among others an apprentice.
One of Brunk's closest friends was fellow silversmith Olle Ohlsson, they worked in close proximity to each other as they both had a particular eye for stylised, simple and imaginative forms.
