Original pigskin-backed binding, gilt title to spine, marbled boards, top edge stained, cover and endpapers printed from original woodcuts by Frithjof Tidemand-Johannessen; some stains and signs of use to spine.

"The book was started in 1944, the colour plates were printed in 1948, the work was brought up to date as on 1st September 1949. It was set up in Cochin Type in Kriste's Press on the Saugbrugsforeninge Art Paper and bound by Bokindustri. Two coloured plates by Paul Gauguin and Frithjof Tidemand-Johannessen are printed from original wood-cuts.".
