PROVENANCE: Schleswig-Holstein private collection, owned by the family of Günter Neumann, who worked as a printer for Wandrey from 2000-2012, received personally from the artist in 2003.
Peter Wandrey's work was initially influenced by surrealism and pop art. His creative phases included painting, sculpture, installation, graphics, object art as well as furniture, jewelry and textile design. He studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg (HFBK) and initially worked as a designer and illustrator. In the late 1970s, he developed his own formal language with 'digitalism. ' In addition to assemblages of electronic parts and sculptures, he created paintings that appear to be composed of pixels. The critical examination of icons from art and culture, the consumer world, politics, current realities of life and the future are an essential part of his oeuvre. His works can be found in important Hamburg museums and prominent German private collections.
