Description
“Among the cabinet painters, Painter Erik Eliasson from Utanåker stands out as the foremost,” writes art historian Svante Svärström. Målar Erik was active in cabinet painting, coffin painting and wallpaper painting. He was originally from Rättvik parish where he lived with his wife in “Målargården”. At the end of the 18th century, however, there were difficult economic times in Dalarna, so between 1790 and 1796 he took up service at the Royal Artillery in Stockholm.
Upper double doors with rear shelves and spoon shelf. Base cabinet with double doors and rear shelf. Between the upper and lower cabinet there are two pull-out drawers.
The cabinet is painted with “rippled rose painting” with flower urns in the upper cabinet door fillings. Somewhat indistinctly signed “Erik” on the back of the cabinet.

Upper crest loose, lacking haspan device. Age-related wear and damage.
