Jani Ceramics 1949-1970

Jane Wåhlstedt, who during the period 1944-1949 had been employed at Laholm Keramik, chose to start her own production in 1949 under the name JanI Keramik together with her husband Nils Larsson. The name “JanI” is a combination of the initial letters of their respective first names.
Jani drew her inspiration from trips abroad and in 1951 she introduced the so-called Sgrafitti technique.
