Length approx. 16 cm
Note: Båtyxa is the older term for the shaft hole axe of the Swedish-Norwegian battle axe culture, also called battle-axe. The battle axe's purpose as a weapon has been questioned, including because the shank holes are sometimes too small to be attached to a strong enough shank. Probably they have served a ceremonial purpose and as an identity marker for the upper stratum of society. Similar axes have been found in a large area of northeastern Europe, but in detail there are clear differences between different cultural areas.
Age-related wear and tear.
