A decorative facsimile map of Warwickshire, faithfully reproducing the early 17th-century original engraved by William Kip after a survey by Christopher Saxton, as published in William Camden’s Britannia (1607). This 20th century reproduction retains the original Latin inscriptions, compass rose, decorative cartouche, and engraved scale with dividers. Mounted and framed.
The map is marked “Christopherus Saxton descripsit / William Kip sculpsit” and numbered “29” in the lower left corner, echoing the original series layout.
Dimensions: 36cm x 30cm.
Condition
Fine. Clean and well-preserved, some light handling marks and minor toning, no tears or folds visible.
