Jacob Ängman (1876-1942) was a prominent silversmith, designer and artisan in Sweden. He was artistic director at Guldsmedsaktiebolaget (GAB) in Stockholm from 1907 and had a significant role in the development of Swedish silversmith in the first half of the 20th century. Stylistically, he evolved from late Art Nouveau in the 1920s to art déco and later to a more moderate functionalism in the 1930s, often with some decorative elements.
One of Ängman's most famous works is the dining silver model “Rosenholm” which was created in 1933-1935 and is still produced today. The tableware is characterized by a clean and elegant design with clean lines and represents a transition from Ängman's earlier work in the late Art Nouveau style to a more simplified and modern direction.
Normal wear and tear.
