Although Ragnar Ljungman (1883-1907) died very young, only 24 years old, he has a role in Swedish art history. He studied at the School of the Union of Artists and in Paris. Almost all works by his hand are in the Bohuslän Museum and it is quite possible that this painting is the only one of his hand to be found in private possession.
