Disc made of ash, plexiglass plate with printed decoration of the Stockholm Archipelago. Length 100 cm, width 100 cm, height 44 cm.
In 1968, Dux Möbel AB introduced a new collection of furniture designed by Bruno Mathsson. This consisted of coffee tables and storage furniture executed in ash. The intention was, among other things, to complement his new Jetson and Pernilla 67 seating furniture. Two tables were included in the Bra Bohag catalogue of the 1968-69 season and presented with the following text: “The coffee table, which is available in three sizes (100 x 100, 150 x 150 and 120 x 72 cm) has a top in ash. It has something refined restrained about it. The veining in the wood is hinted rather than marked and the colour is white-yellow in a very special tone. Bruno Mathsson has seemingly followed in his design the restraint the material invites. There is an ascetic purity on these tables.”
Single copies of this model as well as the wheeled coffee table “Karin” with plexiglass with printed decoration of the Stockholm archipelago have appeared on the secondary market. It is likely that they were part of the same order.
Normal wear and tear, chafing.
