Johan Acrel, also spelled Acrell (1713-1790), in the portrait wearing the bourgeois version of the national costume, was a master shipbuilder at the Admiralty. He was known for the construction of the majority of the Swedish navy's galleys, among others the Order of Seraphim and Wrede II. Johan Acrel was the father of Johan Gustaf Acrel, known as the father of Swedish surgery.
