Hanna Jäger (1927-2014), light object 'John Neumeier, 'neon tubes of various colors, mounted on wood, electrified, 2004, signed and dated on the underside, ca. 15 x 103 x 27 cm

Installation and lighting artist Hanna Jäger first studied at the Academy in Stuttgart with Hans Meid. Around 1950 she created portraits and illustrations and worked as an art teacher, and later worked as a freelance artist in Lübeck. Since spending time in the USA in the 1980s, she has increasingly experimented with neon tubes and integrated them into her works. Since the 1970s, numerous solo exhibitions have been dedicated to her, including at the Museum of Art and Cultural History Lübeck, the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum Schloss Gottorf and the Kunsthalle Aschaffenburg.
Her lighting object 'John Neumeier' is dedicated to the well-known dancer, choreographer and Hamburg ballet director and uses curved arcs to create an analogy of dance.
