Peter Christian Dahl, born 16 February 1934 in Oslo, Norway, died 17 May 2019 in Stockholm.

PROVENANCE: The work was bought by his friend Olle Dahlin for 50 SEK and became the first work the artist sold. Since then within the ownership of the same family.

Exhibition text:
“In connection with an order from Kungsholmen's textbook in 1952 by Peter Dahl and two other students for a work with Stockholm motifs, Peter Dahl also made a series of other paintings, of which Kaotika was one. The work was bought the same year by his friend Olle Dahlin for 50 kronor and became the first work the artist sold.
The commissioned work itself was rejected because it did not follow the “Dala style” in which the architecture of the hall went according to the Folkskoldirektionen.“
