Description

Hans Kuhn (1905-1991), figural composition, watercolor, 1949, signed and dated, ca. 47 x 62 cm, framed behind glass, with frame ca. 54 x 70 cm

Kuhn studied with Ludwig Meidner in Berlin and then in Paris with Georges Braque and Roger Bissière. In 1937, his works were confiscated in a Berlin gallery and he was banned from exhibiting. After the war, Kuhn was appointed by Karl Hofer to the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, where he worked until 1974.
