Georg Wolf (1882-1962), maid with cows, oil on panel, signed, ca. 40 c 55 cm, with frame ca. 61 x 77 cm

The animal and landscape painter Georg Wolf studied at the Academy in Düsseldorf and was a master student of Julius Paul Junghanns. He later studied in Munich with Heinrich von Zügel. Wolf's artistic estate was bequeathed to the city of Uelzen by his widow; works by the painter are exhibited in the museum at Holdenstedt Castle.
