Waldemar Lorentzon, together with the artists Sven Jonson, Erik Olson, Esaias Thorén, Stellan Mörner and Axel Olson, belonged to the Halmstad Group, which was a group consisting of the above artists. The group was formed in 1929 in connection with the Art and Industry Exhibition in Halmstad that same year. The group of artists had strong influences from travels in Paris during the 1920s and mainly painted modernist and surrealist motifs.
