Alfons Engling (1909-?), Madonna, plaster plastic, painted dark brown 1960, signed and dated, height x width x depth: 52 x 17 x 30 cm.
Engeling studied at the Folkwang School in Essen and was a student of Ernst Barlach. In 1950 he moved to Brazil, where he worked as a professor at the EBA Sâo Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo. In 1979 he returned to Germany and settled in Cologne.
