Information from the Swedish Agricultural Agency: "Black bear, Ursus Americanus is a species that is currently CITES II-listed according to the international CITES convention, this happened in 1992. It is still listed in Annex B of EU Regulation 338/97 today. The listing in the EU regulation took place in 1997.
The documentation, which the current owner brought in, proves legal acquisition based on the fact that the hunting and importation took place before the species was CITES-listed. This means that you do not need to apply and get a decision from us for further sales. However, it is important to remember that the documentation that the shooter passed on to the new owner, and that you have now sent to us, must always be included with the product because it proves when and in what way the product was taken to Sweden.".
