Henrik Horst is an artist born in 1942. During the 1960s when he was growing up, he was influenced by the trends in pop art, minimalism and brutalism. He became known mainly in the 1970s for his brutalist metal reliefs.
Brutalism is an architectural and artistic movement within modernism that flourished from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s. In art, brutalism can manifest itself through the use of raw and robust materials, such as untreated metal, wood or plaster. It's about exploring textures, sculptural forms and industrial aesthetics.
