David Gunnar Larsson, born on February 20, 1898 in Myckleby on Orust and died on January 10, 1976 in Gothenburg, was a Swedish painter and cartoonist. He belonged to the Gothenburg Colorists, a group of artists from Gothenburg who explored the expressive power of color in their works.
Larsson began his art education at the Gustafsberg School in Uddevalla, where he studied between 1906 and 1913. He was then an apprentice at Bonnier's Litografiska Anstalt in Gothenburg between 1913 and 1916. Between the years 1916 and 1920, he continued his education at Valand's painting school, where Birger Simonsson and Carl Ryd were his teachers. In 1919 he held his first solo exhibition in Gothenburg.
