HANS WEDDO VON GLÜMER (1867-C.1921). Monument to Kaiser Wilhelm II, around 1909.

Bronze, light brown patina. Rectangular, ascending base, protruding on the viewing side. Circumferential reserves of laurel wreaths and floral hangings. Therein various inscriptions of German colonies. On the front a quote from 'Our future lies on the water' and 'Kaiser Wilhelm II'. Then an armchair positioned on an animal skin. The imperial coat of arms on the back of the back. The enthroned sculpture of the Kaiser in the uniform of the German Kaiser and King of Prussia with various decorations, including the Order Pour le Mérite. Fur-lined coat stripped off one shoulder and gaze turned to the right. In the left hand a folder with the inscription 'My Marine Holding'. On the edge of the base the artist's signature ´H. wv Glomer`. H: 31.5cm.
