Description

Ellen Tornquist (1871-1944), snowy landscape, oil on cardboard covered with canvas, signed lower right, approx. 51 x 61 cm, with frame approx. 63.7x73.8 cm.

Tornquist received her training at the Daman Academy in Munich and was a member of the Munich Artists' Association. In 1905 she exhibited in Berlin, Bonn, Stuttgart and Munich. Since 1918 she was permanently based in Meran. Many of her works are now in the Museum Villa Freischütz.

Minimally darkened, isolated tiny spots. Frame with signs of wear.
