Asai Chu ( born July 18, 1856 in Sakura, died December 16, 1907 in Honyo, Tokyo ) was a Japanese painter. He is considered the best-known landscape painter of yōga, the painting of the Meiji period influenced by western art.
Unsigned. Verso on the side of the stretcher scratched inscription: Chu Asai Grez. framed measure approx. Frame 100 x 77 cm, painting 90 x 66 cm.
